Who Else Wants To Know About Artificial Flowers?
|
|
If you listen to the designers you see on television on any given channel, you will think that there is something wrong with having artificial flowers in your home. They also have something against ceiling fans, and I often wonder what type of world these folks are living in. I suppose of décor is what you do for a living you won’t have a problem with getting fresh flowers every day, and you won’t mind your home being a stagnant and airless place as long as it looks good, but I am not one of these people. You probably aren’t either, and you know that sometimes things are a matter of circumstance, and even common sense. Most of us don’t have the time to get fresh flowers every day, and we certainly don’t have the money to do so.
I have artificial flowers in my home and I love them. I don’t care what anyone has to say about it because I am the one that lives here. There is no way I could get fresh flowers every day if I wanted to, and I don’t see that as anything but a huge waste of money. Fresh flowers are great on occasion, but there is no way I can get them all the time. I have a few favored arrangements of artificial flowers in my house and I don’t intend to give them up any time soon.
Though at one time artificial flowers were indeed something to be wary of, there are many great places that make them today, and many of them are gorgeous. Silk ones are by far the best, but even some of the cheaper ones look great. My favorite artificial flowers are the ones I have on a vine hanging over the top to my curtains. I think they add a great touch to my living room, and I can’t imagine where I would find something like this in a real flower store. They, like the few arrangements I have, will remain for as long as I like the look of them.
Perhaps one of the reasons why people don’t like artificial flowers for decorating purposes is because people don’t keep them clean. I have this problem myself, but I do try to keep up with them. Artificial flowers attract dust, and it can be very obvious if you don’t keep them cleaned off. If you dust them when you dust the rest of your home, you won’t have anything to worry about. If you have a problem getting all of the dust off, take them outside and use compressed air to blow the dirt off.
